JAKARTA The recapitulation of the results of the national level vote acquisition for the remaining five provinces is targeted for completion tomorrow, Monday, March 18. Member of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) August Mellaz said the KPU from five provinces that had not been recapited at the national level; namely West Java, Papua, Papua Mountains, Southwest Papua, to Maluku, will be in Jakarta tomorrow.

"Maluku is actually some of the commissioners already in Jakarta because at the same time this afternoon we also conducted a fit and proper test for ten candidates for the Maluku Province KPU members," said Mellaz at the Indonesian KPU Building, quoting Antara, Sunday, March 17.

Mellaz also revealed that West Java Province would be the first province to be recapited tomorrow morning.

"The plan is for West Java, Monday, March 18 in the morning," he said.

He then explained that the Southwest Papua KPU will be in Jakarta at 12.00 WIB, while Papua and Papua Mountains will arrive in Jakarta at 19.00 WIB.

"Then Maluku, in principle Monday, March 18, some of his friends will be in Jakarta at 20.00," he said.

Therefore, he is optimistic that the Indonesian KPU will complete its recapitulation before the March 20, 2024 deadline.

"So, if we look at the progress as we always do the updates, of course we are optimistic that we will be able to fulfill the deadline for March 20, 2024 regarding the determination of the election results nationally," he said.
