The disclosure of this drug case allegedly involved one of the inmates at the Padang Penitentiary (Lapas).
"When it was found that there was an allegation that one of the inmates was involved in the circulation network, we immediately opened up to help reveal the BNNP," said Haris, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 16.
Thanks to this coordination and synergy, he continued, the drug trafficking network was finally revealed and one of the Padang prison inmates with the initials SH (44) was arrested.
This is in accordance with the statement of the Head of the West Sumatra BNNP Brigadier General of Police Tri Julianto Djatiutomo during a press conference on the destruction of evidence in Padang (15/3).
Press conferences were attended by various agencies ranging from the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, the Head of the Correctional Division and the Head of the Correctional UPT in Padang City.
On this occasion, the West Sumatra BNNP destroyed 946.82 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 10831.88 grams of marijuana by burning.

According to Haris, coordination with law enforcement agencies is carried out as a form of commitment to eradicate narcotics in prisons, detention centers, and LPKA in the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office.
Haris further emphasized that the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office will always support law enforcement officials in uncovering and eradicating drug trafficking networks.
Moreover, related to prisons that incidentally are the Correctional Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) under the auspices of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
"We realize that to uncover a drug trafficking network, it cannot be done alone. It needs coordination, collaboration, and synergy of many parties," he explained.
According to him, the disclosure of drug cases is in line with his mission to eradicate drug trafficking in prison or commonly known as the Zero Halinar (Handphone, illegal levies, and drugs) program.
On the other hand, Haris considered that the disclosure made by BNNP was a separate warning for his party that drug trafficking was continuing to target prisons or detention centers.
Therefore, the function of supervision and security must be further improved to cut off the circulation so that it does not go to prison.
