This Is The Reason The KPK Has Left 15 Suspects In The Extortion Case At The Polda Metro Jaya

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has entrusted 15 suspects of alleged extortion in their detention center to the Polda Metro Jaya detention center. This step was taken due to psychological factors.

This was revealed by Asep after announcing 15 people were suspects in extortion at the KPK detention center. They include the Head of the KPK Detention Center Achmad Fauzi, former Acting KPK Karutan Deden Rochendi and Ristanta, and Hengki who are ex-Kamtib Detention Centers.

"Indeed, we deliberately do not place it in the KPK detention center, both in the K4 branch, C1 (ACLC building) and in Guntur or in the Indonesian Navy. This is related to psychological problems," Asep said at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, March 15.

"Of course, if it is placed here psychologically it affects colleagues who have been rolling and others. This is the boss, the leader is to maintain neutrality," continued Asep.

He ensured that this detention had coordinated with the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto. "(He, red) welcomes it for safekeeping," said Asep.

Previously reported, 15 KPK employees were officially announced as suspects in the prison extortion case and detained. They are suspected of having managed to collect up to Rp6.3 billion from 2019-2023.

The money was obtained from detainees in corruption cases with various amounts ranging from Rp. 300 thousand to Rp. 20 million. The handover is carried out directly or through a holding bank account controlled by the lurah and corting.

Prisoners then get exclusive facilities after giving money. One of them can use a cellphone or power bank.

Meanwhile, those who do not pay or are late in depositing receive uncomfortable treatment. Among them, the detention room is locked from the outside, violations and reductions in sports rations, and gets a guard quota and more hygiene pickets.
