JAKARTA - The National Police's Food Task Force continues to monitor the rice distribution process from the production center area. The goal is to ensure the availability and stability of rice prices in a number of markets and modern retailers.

"Regional task forces also carry out activities in their respective jurisdictions to ensure that there are no obstacles to the rice distribution process from the production center area, which we know is starting to harvest," said Head of the National Police Food Task Force Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan when confirmed, Friday, March 15.

In addition, the National Police's Food Task Force also supports the government's policy regarding the relaxation of premium rice retail prices (HET).

According to him, the form of support for the temporary policy or from March 10 to 23, 2024, is by ensuring that everything runs.

"Every form of supervision and monitoring of the implementation of the HET relaxation of premium rice," said Whisnu.

"The National Police's Food Task Force jointly with the relevant Ministries and Institutions authorized," he continued.

On the other hand, the National Police's Food Task Force stated that it would take firm action against all parties who try to play behind the issue of rice availability. The criminal process will be applied to those who cheat.

"Take firm action in accordance with applicable law if irregularities are found that interfere with food availability based on the ultimum remedium principle without disturbing the distribution supply chain," said Whisnu.
