Ratification Of The DKJ Bill, NasDem: Must Be Clear, Cannot Be Forced

JAKARTA - Member of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR from the NasDem Faction, Taufik Basari warned that the ratification of the Draft Jakarta Special Region Bill (RUU DKJ) should not be forced. It is known that the DPR and the government have set a target for the DKJ Bill to be knocked before Eid, to be precise on April 5, 2024.

"The settlement (of the ratification, ed) cannot be forced if there are things that are not clear yet," said the man who is familiarly called Tobas to reporters, Thursday, March 14.

Tobas said the DPR and the Government had the same spirit regarding the ratification of the DKJ Bill. Namely, completing the legal umbrella for the Jakarta area after it no longer has DKI status according to the specified target.

However, he said, there are still important notes also conveyed by the Chairman of the DPR Baleg, Supratman Andi Agtas. That the ratification schedule still depends on the evolving dynamics. "(So) This is still tentative," he said.

Therefore, the member of Commission III of the DPR said that it is possible that the discussion of the DKJ Bill will be delayed from the schedule. If there is a discussion that has not been completed, it will be continued during the next session.

"If it turns out that it has not been completed, of course it will still allow us to continue during the next trial," concluded Tobas.
