Crowded Pilgrims Ahead Of Ramadan 2024, Seasonal TPU Flower Traders Menteng Pulo Grateful To Get Money

Seasonal interest traders who are at the Menteng Pulo Public Cemetery (TPU), South Jakarta (Jaksel), get blessings ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri because many pilgrims come to the TPU.

"Every time before Ramadan, we will definitely sell flowers and rose water," said the seasonal flower trader at the Menteng Pulo TPU, Faisal in Jakarta, Sunday, March 10, as reported by Antara.

According to him, many pilgrims came to the grave two weeks before Ramadan. Therefore he tried his luck by selling special flowers for pilgrims.

Every religious holiday, he took the time to sell flowers on the edge of the tomb.

According to him, not only before Ramadan, but before and after Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and even during Christmas, many also bought fireworks when they were about to make a pilgrimage to the grave of their relatives.

"Not only before Ramadan, but Christmas is also crowded with pilgrims," he said.

Faisal admitted that he had been selling flowers for more than 5 years when there was a momentum for religious holidays. He is not only alone but is assisted by his younger brother and brother to sell on the side of the road.

Faisal admitted that he works as an employee of a private company every day. On this holiday he took the time to help his parents sell.

"I help mothers. For mothers, they sell flowers here (TPU Menteng Pulo) every day," he said.

Another trader named Sri said that each pack containing two to three kinds of flowers was sold for Rp. 5,000. Meanwhile, for rose water per bottle, it is sold for Rp. 10,000.

He admitted, with the arrival of the month of Ramadan this would be a blessing for him because he could get income from the proceeds from selling flowers. "The sales turnover day can reach Rp. 300 thousand to Rp. 500 thousand," he concluded.
