Polda Sultra Denies Criminalization Of Determination Of 2 Suspects In Mining Cases In Konsel

The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Police emphasized that there was no criminalization in the determination of two residents in the mining case that occurred in Torobulu Village, Laeya District, South Konawe Regency (Konsel), Southeast Sulawesi Province, as suspects. Dirreskrimsus Polda Sultra Kombes Bambang Wijanarko said the determination of the two suspects with the initials HS alias WL and AF was purely based on reports and evidence of criminal elements. "So, in determining this suspect, basically there was a complaint from PT WIN. Then an investigation and investigation process was carried out until the case was held," said Bambang when met in Kendari, Antara, Wednesday, March 6. In handling cases, investigators have found criminal elements based on evidence to increase the status of the two residents to become suspects. Meanwhile, several other people did not fulfill the criminal element, because they were considered only to participate but were not involved in taking action to obstruct mining activities. "The two suspects fulfilled sufficient evidence, threw tools at the mining activities and took actions to incite other people to take action to obstruct mining activities," he said. Bambang also said that from the results of the investigation by investigators, the HS and AF suspects who refused mining in Torobula Village were not land owners. In fact, their house is also not on land that is being worked on by the company to carry out mining activities. Even so, continued Bambang, his party still provides opportunities for both parties to take the peaceful route, so that the case can be stopped. "And the status of the two residents suspects can be revoked," he explained. However, said Bambang, his party could not intervene in the path that would be taken by both parties.

"There is still a chance to take the Restorative Justice (RJ) route. With a note, the reporter withdrew his report and both parties are ready to make peace through the RJ," added Bambang.
