KPU Concerning PSI's Voice Surge: Wait For Official Results

JAKARTA - KPU member Idham Holik asked all parties to be patient in waiting for the recapitulation of the votes from the 2024 General Election which will be held from February 15 to March 20, 2024, especially regarding the increase in PSI votes.

This follows the DPR's appeal to the KPU to immediately anticipate the surge in the votes of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) by manually calculating.

"And because the official results at the national level have not been determined, we ask all parties to be patient, waiting for the official results of the national level recapitulation which will be held by the KPU," said Idham as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.

He explained that the official results of the election participants' votes were carried out by the KPU through a tiered manual recapitulation starting at the polling level (TPS), kelurahan, sub-district, district/city, province, to the center.

Idham revealed that the implementation of the tiered recapitulation was carried out openly and not only witnessed by witnesses according to their level.

The recapitulation is directly supervised by election supervisors according to their level and monitored by registered monitors. The KPU also requires BPK, district/city and provincial KPU to broadcast live during recapitulation.

According to him, if there is a discrepancy in the votes acquired by election participants during the tiered recapitulation, then the recapitulation forum can correct according to authentic data on the votes acquired by election participants.

"As contained in the Form Form Model C1-Plano," he added.

In addition, according to KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the KPU has until March 19, 2023, to complete the recapitulation of vote counting to the national level.

Thus, the results of the vote count recapitulation will be announced no later than March 20, 2024.

"The law gives the KPU a deadline no later than 35 days after the voting day," he explained.

Therefore, the KPU has no later than 35 days to finalize the vote count.
