Pangdam II/Swj: TNI Soldiers Playing Online Gambling Are Being Legally Processed

JAKARTA - Panglima Kodam II Sriwijaya (Pangdam II/Swj) Maj. Gen. Yanuar Adil emphasized to his staff that if there are soldiers involved in online gambling games, they will be processed according to legal provisions.

"On every occasion I meet TNI soldiers in the ranks within the Sumbagsel region, I always remind them to stay away from online gambling, or follow up on the development of crime in today's digital era," said Pangdam II/Swj in Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Tuesday, March 5, quoted by Antara.

According to him, in the digital era, crimes in cyberspace are also rampant, including gambling which is packaged in the form of online games (online games).

"It is possible that online gambling is carried out by TNI soldiers and their families, for that I always remind them to stay away from all forms of gambling," he said.

He explained that the proliferation of online gambling games in the midst of people's lives today cannot be separated from the opening of internet access and the pragmatic demands of the economy among the community, namely wanting to get money quickly.

Gambling according to Islamic teachings is a big sin because it has far more dangers and disadvantages than the benefits.

In addition, gambling can damage mentally so that it is strictly prohibited for TNI soldiers and if anyone is caught involved in gambling, strict action will be taken in accordance with legal regulations.

"I will take firm action against TNI soldiers who violate the law, as well as those who excel and maintain a good image will be rewarded," said Pangdam II/Swj.
