The DPD Plenary Session Agrees To Form A Special Committee For Cheating In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) has agreed to form a Special Committee (Pansus) for Election Decree to uncover many alleged violations and frauds in holding the 2024 simultaneous elections.

This was agreed upon by members of the DPD RI at the 9th DPD RI Plenary Session of the Fourth Session of the 2023-2024 Session Year, at the Nusantara V Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 5, led by the Chairman of the DPD RI AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.

"Committee I in charge of Elections has stated an attitude related to fraud in the 2024 General Election, but there are proposals for the formation of a Special Committee. Can it be approved?" asked LaNyalla.

"We ask the Secretary General to pay attention and prepare for the follow-up to the formation of this Special Committee," continued LaNyalla.

The formation of the Special Committee was based on a proposal submitted by Tamsil Linrung, a member of the DPD RI from South Sulawesi. According to him, further follow-up is needed regarding complaints about election violations and fraud not only limited to being submitted to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) RI.

"It is necessary to think further about making a Special Committee for Election violations or fraud. So it is not limited to Committee I, but is made cross-committee to all convey their views. Because maybe this fraud has an impact on fellow members who are not elected now," said Tamsil Linrung.

As is known, the DPD RI has formed a complaint post for alleged election violations at every DPD RI Office in the provincial capital. This effort was made to participate in supervising the implementation of the Simultaneous Elections in 2024 in order to create democratic, honest, free of money politics and legitimacy elections.

Based on data received from the DPD RI Office in the provincial capital, that the complaints submitted through the post were 4 (four) reports, namely from West Kalimantan Province with 2 reports, North Sumatra with 1 report and Maluku with 1 report.

The incoming report in accordance with applicable regulations has been submitted by Bawaslu. In addition, following developments in the DPD RI leadership community asked Committee I to immediately follow up by inviting KPU, Bawaslu, DKPP and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

If deemed necessary, you can also invite the National Police Chief, TNI Commander, and Attorney General, in a Working Meeting (Raker) and Hearing Meeting (RDP) to ask for an explanation and clarification regarding alleged violations and/or fraud in the implementation of the 2024 General Election.
