DPR Agenda Today: In The Plenary Meeting, Outside The Demonstration Action

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) will hold a plenary meeting to open the IV trial period for the 2023-2024 session today, Tuesday, March 5.

Along with the DPR plenary session, hundreds of people are also scheduled to hold demonstrations in front of the DPR building to demand the implementation of the right to inquiry for alleged fraud in the 2024 General Election.

In the official agenda received by VOI, this plenary meeting was held based on the results of the previous plenary meeting decision, which was dated February 6, 2024.

"The People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia will hold a Plenary Meeting which will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024," said the official agenda issued by the Secretariat General of the DPR RI.

Meanwhile, the agenda for today's plenary meeting was to hear the speech of the chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, to open the fourth trial period for the 2023-2024 trial year.

This plenary meeting is planned to be held at 09.30 WIB in the Plenary Meeting Room, Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta.

"Followed by the inauguration of interim replacement (PAW) for members of the DPR RI and members of the MPR RI for the remaining 2019-2024 term," said the information on the agenda of the DPR today.

While the atmosphere outside the DPR building, security officers have begun to be on standby. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said as many as 3,929 joint personnel were deployed to secure a demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building, Central Jakarta, today.

"In order to secure the actions of elements of society in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building, we involved a total of 3,929 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, TNI, DKI Regional Government and related agencies," said Kombes Susatyo to reporters, Tuesday, March 5.

Susatyo said the thousands of officers would guard at a number of points to anticipate the mass demonstrations into the DPR RI area.

"Personnel will later be placed at a number of points around the DPR/MPR RI. For today's demonstrations, we have anticipated this by preparing a number of personnel to provide security and prevent mass actions from entering the DPR/MPR RI area," he said.
