10 Police Injured In Explosion At The Gegana Headquarters Of The East Java Police

East Java Police Chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto said the explosion at the Subden Jibom Office of the Gegana Detachment of the East Java Regional Police Satbrimob (Polda) in Surabaya left 10 police personnel injured.

"I make sure there are no dead victims, so only 10 injured," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 4.

Imam explained that the victims suffered injuries due to being hit by broken glass from the explosion.

The reason is, when the explosion occurred, officers were carrying out TKP training activities after the explosion in a room about 10 meters from the location of the main explosion or in an explosives storage warehouse.

The Regional Police Chief confirmed that all police personnel who were victims of the explosion this morning had received intensive care at the police-owned health facility.

"Alhamdulillah, it has been handled by Bhayangkara Hospital and nothing serious. We anticipate that the condition can be observed," he said.

The Regional Police Chief said that the percentage of damage to the East Java Regional Police (Polda) Gegana Detachment Subden Jibom Office was still being checked, including buildings around the scene.

"One of them is the sub-district office, the Kodim office, including the glass in the standings which broke due to strong vibration effects. We are currently collecting data," he said.

Not only that, but his party is also ready to help local residents if their houses are damaged by the impact of the incident.

"If there are houses that are affected, we will communicate and repair them again," he said.
