JAKARTA - The National Police are reluctant to speculate about the alleged element of negligence behind the explosion that occurred at the Gegana Satua Brimob Detachment Headquarters. This is because the team formed by the East Java Police is still investigating the incident. "Yes, of course the team is still working (investigating the cause of the explosion)," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Monday, March 4. Based on preliminary results, the explosion was thought to have originated from the discovery of mortars from war remnants that had not been destroyed. Then, regarding the possibility of Bareskrim Polri to intensify the handling of the incident, Trunoyodo said that his party would first wait for the results of the investigation from the East Java Police team. "Regarding assistance, of course the results of the team there are forensic at the East Java Regional Police and there is also Brimob, we are still waiting for the results," said Trunoyudo. Meanwhile, the East Java Regional Police formed a team in handling the explosion incident that occurred at the Gegana Satua Brimob Detachment Headquarters, Monday, March 4, at around 10.19 WIB.

The team is a combination of Forensic members and Brimob. A search for clues will be carried out by the team to reveal the exact cause of the explosion. The explosion caused material losses in the form of office shophouses and a car containing Jibom equipment. However, there were no fatalities as a result of the incident.
