Bandung Residents Who Drowned During Pilgrimage At Cimedang Tasikmalaya Curug Were Found Dead

Tourists from Bandung Regency who drowned while swimming in Curug Cimedang, Sariwangi District, Tasikmalaya Regency, were found by a joint SAR team. The victim had died and was taken to a hospital in Tasikmalaya, Monday, March 4.

The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tasikmalaya Regency, Nuraedidin, said that the victim was reported to have drowned in Curug Cimedang, Sunday, March 3 evening, a joint SAR officer was found on Monday, March 4 in the morning.

"Last night's victim at two o'clock in the morning was found," said Nuraedidin in Tasikmalaya, confiscated by Antara.

He said the victim was identified as Irpan (30), a resident of Bandung Regency who was one of a group of religious tours on a pilgrimage to a sacred tomb in the area.

After the pilgrimage, he said, the victim and a number of his colleagues swam around Curug Cimedang. However, while swimming, the victim did not come to the surface, then the victim's colleague asked for help from residents who were then searched.

"He didn't appear when he was taking a shower, yesterday it happened, and he was immediately searched," he said.

He conveyed that the weather conditions that are currently in the rainy season need to be watched out for various dangers in the open, including having to be aware of the dangers of swimming in the river.

"Don't just swim, you have to be careful," he said.

The search process involved elements of the joint SAR Team from the TNI, Polri, Basarnas, BPBD, Tagana, disaster volunteers, and people who went to the location to look for victims.

The victim was finally found and then evacuated to the SMC Singaparna Regional General Hospital, Tasikmalaya Regency, before being taken to the funeral home in Bandung.
