JAKARTA - The Abu Dhabi Authority, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has again taken action against culinary outlets in the region, after being deemed to have violated food safety rules and had been warned beforehand.

Culinary outlets closed by the Abu Dhabi authorities last Wednesday were in Al Zahiyah located in the center of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi's Agricultural Security and Food Safety Authority closed the place after finding a violation of health and safety regulations.

Authorities said the restaurant had been given several warnings regarding cleanliness and food stored in an unsafe place.

In addition, insects and mice were also found in the kitchen of the food outlets. Authorities said health violations pose a risk to customers.

"Catheria violates food safety rules. There are several high-risk reasons such as the spread of insects," authorities said in a statement.

"There is also the presence ofautics, and the neglect of cleanliness at the facility," the statement continued.

He added that restaurants will remain closed until health violation problems are corrected by the management.

It is known, supervisors routinely visit restaurants in Abu Dhabi to protect public health, ensuring the restaurant complies with food safety requirements.

Last January, a cafe in Abu Dhabi was also closed by authorities after repeatedly violating food safety rules, including cases of the discovery of insects in the place.

An insect was found in a food preparation area, posing a risk to consumer health. Authorities say the outlets have been given three warnings of unhygienic practices before closing.

"All types of places of business and food products are subject to inspections, to ensure compliance with the highest food safety standards," the authority said.

The authorities appealed to the public not to hesitate to report their concerns about food safety standards by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government contact center.
