PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri asked clubs competing in Liga 1 and Liga 2 Indonesia to strengthen efforts to attract young talents for coaching in supporting Indonesian football.

The U-20 Indonesia National Team (Timnas) coach hopes that this effort can support player regeneration.

The head coach of Bali United 2015-2017 explained that there are five pillars that must be done to support the development of Indonesian football.

These pillars, he said, include infrastructure improvements, then the football curriculum, the development of coaches in terms of quality and quantity, player development to competition.

According to him, coaching was carried out by the football school (SSB) and the football club's coaching team.

There is also the implementation of competition, he said, it can be of high quality if the previous four pillars were also of high quality.

"For example, this is a quality field, children play comfortably, both ways of playing are clearly visible because the coach is also good and we hope the players who appear in better quality than before," he said.

In addition, he also hopes that League 1 and League 2 clubs will also monitor tournaments that are attended by young talents, one of which is the Westi Cup 2024 which will take place March 2-5 2024 at the Bali United Training Center, Purnama Beach, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

On the other hand, he praised Bali United's football training facilities, the only football club competing in the Indonesian League 1.

At the training center, there are nine pitches and fitness centers/fitnes on the beach and rice fields.

Meanwhile, Bali United has a special program to capture young talents which includes three main programs, namely coaching classes, youth tournaments including those for the ages of nine years (U9) U11, U13, U15, and U18 and the opportunity to participate in the selection of young players or Bali United Youth.
