Khofifah Yakin East Java Becomes One Of The Determinants Of The Prabowo-Gibran Pair's Victory

JAKARTA - The Steering Committee and the National Campaign Officer (Jurkamnas) of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Khofifah Indar Parawansa believes that East Java will be one of the determinants of the Prabowo-Gibran pair's victory in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

Khofifah assessed that the people of East Java have a spirit and spirit of nationalism that is in line with Prabowo, the presidential candidate number 02 in the 2024 presidential election.

"We want to convey that Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and the archipelago were born from Earth Majapahit and they are in East Java, because Prabowo has always echoed national insight and nationalism. That's his heart in East Java," said Khofifah during the National Gathering at the Garuda Yaksa Padepokan, Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 2.

On that occasion, Khofifah together with 1,600 members of the Nahdlatul Ulama Muslimat (NU) and community leaders in East Java, including Emil Elestianto Dardak, stayed in touch at Prabowo's residence in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Saturday.

In the event, Khofifah also invited all members of the NU Muslimat to pray for Prabowo to become the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia who will be sworn in in in October 2024.

"God willing, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. General TNI (HOR) Prabowo Subianto, who will carry out his duties as well as possible with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka," said Khofifah at the gathering.

Dai said that in the 2024 election, East Java was the province with the second most votes after West Java. The number of voters in West Java reached 35,714,901, while in East Java there were 31,402,838 voters.

Prabowo, after hearing Khofifah's speech, thanked the volunteers, figures, kiai, ulama, and the people of East Java who supported him and his partner Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mrs. Khofifah, Muslim women; ulama; for the honor and hard struggle given to me to go to RI 1," said Prabowo.

He praised the attitude of his supporters in East Java who were firm and not shy in supporting the Prabowo-Gibran pair.

"I've always felt close to Nahdlatul Ulama from a young age, as you know, I'm said to be one of those who are very close to Gus Dur. From being very young, we know each other. He also often goes to my house. In fact, his house is right across from my grandfather and grandmother's house. He is a person who guides me a lot, "said Prabowo.

Gus Dur or KH Abdurrahman Wahid is one of the important figures of NU who is also the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Therefore, in front of NU Muslimat members, Prabowo hopes that they will always support him. I still need the support of all of you. Keep on guarding me. Let's all eliminate poverty. Today I got strength because there is support from all of you," said Prabowo.

In the temporary results of the recapitulation of the Indonesian KPU's votes, the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka won with 58.83 percent of the votes as of Saturday at 22.00 WIB.

Two of the rivals, namely pair number 01 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, received a temporary vote of 24.49 percent, while pair number 03 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. 16.68 percent.

The KPU on its official website shows that as of Saturday at 22.00 WIB the calculated ballots reached 78.04 percent.
