Jayapura KPU: Pleno Recapitulation Of Sound Starting In West Sentani District

JAYAPURA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jayapura Regency, Papua, stated that the vote recapitulation plenary meeting began with the West Sentani District which was ready to read the votes in the area. The implementation of the district-level vote recapitulation plenary meeting will be held for 5 days from March 1— March 5, 2024 at a hotel in Sentani City, Jayapura Regency. Jayapura Regency KPU chairman Daniel Mebri said that Jayapura Regent Triwarno Purnomo was present at the opening of the plenary meeting. In accordance with the agenda, the West Sentani District which earlier proposed reading the results of the vote, both the Presidential Election/Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, the DPD RI Member Election, the DPR RI Member Election, the Papua Provincial DPRD Member Election, and the Jayapura Regency DPRD Member Election. According to Daniel, after the West Sentani District, only other districts will read out the results of the final district-level vote recapitulation plenary meeting. "We are very optimistic that we can complete the district-level vote recapitulation plenary meeting for 5 days," he said in Sentani, Friday, March 1. If in the plenary meeting there is a slight delay in the recapitulation of votes, according to the rules, his party will apply for an extension of time to the Papua Province KPU, and the Indonesian KPU in accordance with the applicable mechanism. With the support of the security forces who have alerted 100 personnel, he hopes that the implementation of the vote recapitulation plenary meeting will be safe and smooth. "Thank you to the Jayapura Police Chief and the ranks who have supported us in the implementation of the vote recapitulation plenary meeting which starts today and will be completed on March 5, 2024," he said.

Previously, the local KPU announced a fixed electoral list (DPT) in this district as many as 134,568 voters with 568 polling stations (TPS) spread across 139 villages and five urban villages.
