Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan admitted that he had not thought about the next steps to be taken if he did not win the 2024 presidential election with his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar. Meanwhile, presidential and vice presidential candidates number 1 Anies-Muhaimin received 24.49 percent of the votes, as well as presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in third place with 16.68 percent.

There is a view that Anies, if he loses the 2024 presidential election, will take the opportunity to run as a candidate for governor of DKI in the next regional election.
