Six Babies In Northern Gaza Died Due To Lack Of Nutrition Amid Israel's Blockade

Six babies died at Kamal Adwan Hospital and Al Shifa Medical Complex in the northern Gaza Strip due to severe malnutrition on Wednesday (28/2) night amid an Israeli military blockade in the Palestinian enclave.

Medical sources confirmed the deaths of four babies at Kamal Adwan Hospital and added that seven other babies were still in critical condition due to malnutrition.

In addition, two babies were declared dead of malnutrition at Al Shifa Medical Complex, Gaza's largest health facility, reported by ANTARA from WAFA, Thursday, February 29.

Last week, the Global Nutrition Cluster reported a drastic increase in the number of cases of malnutrition among children, pregnant and lactating women in the Gaza Strip, which poses a major threat to their health.

When Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip entered its 21st week, food and clean water became very rare and various diseases were rampant, thereby endangering the nutrition and immunity of women and children and resulting in a spike in cases of acute malnutrition.

The report, entitled 'Grazil Vulnerability and Situation Analysis - Gaza', found that the situation was very extreme in the northern Gaza Strip, where aid shipments nearly completely cut off for weeks.
