TANGERANG - The permanent bridge connecting Rawa Bolang-Sarakan Village in Sukasari Village, Rajeg District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, collapsed after being swept away by the swift current of the tributary on Wednesday morning. "It happened this morning at around 04.00 WIB, when I came out I wanted to check, it turned out that the bridge had collapsed and was pushed by the river," said Alfian (29), a resident of Rawa Bolang Village in Tangerang, Antara, Wednesday, February 28. According to him, the bridge entered the Sukasari Village area. Where the access road axis connects two villages with hundreds of families (KK). "This bridge is indeed an alternative access for two villages between Rawa Bolang and Sarakan. Therefore, the collapse of this bridge makes it very difficult for residents," he said. He said, the occurrence of the disaster had an impact on the socio-economic activities of residents from the two village environments. Although, there are other alternative ways but have to travel quite far to get to the opposite village. This permanent bridge, he said, was built around 1980 with construction made of iron, concrete and others. However, since the establishment of this road connecting access, the local government has never renewed it. "It has not been repaired for a long time. Only in patches. In fact, so far this bridge has been a connecting road between villages to cross the river," he said. He also revealed that the impact of the collapse of the bridge also cut off access roads to schools and public cemeteries (TPU). Local residents also hope that the local government will immediately carry out handling for repairing the bridge. "Our concern is that it is difficult to take the children to school, because there are three schools that pass this bridge. Plus, access to the TPU," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of Road Development at the Department of Highways and Water Resources (DBMSDA) of Tangerang Regency, Endang, said that his party had now checked the collapsed bridge connecting the access of two villages in Sukasari Village, Rajeg. His party, he said, had coordinated with the River Basin Center (BBWS) to ask for authority in repairing the bridge.

"We have coordinated with BBWS to ask for permission regarding the repair of the bridge. Because so far the authority is on their side," he said.
