Previously, two fishermen from North Aceh were rescued by Malaysian Marin Police personnel when they were swept away and carried away by the current to the Kuala Kedah waters due to their damaged ship, last Sunday (4/2).

The two fishermen, namely Asnawi from Ulee Rubek and Zuhdi from Krueng Geukuh. The repatriation of the two fishermen was facilitated by the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang on Sunday, February 25, 2024 using Lion Air (JT133) flight on the PEN-KNO route and arrived at Kualanamu Airport.

Both were welcomed by the Belawan Marine and Fisheries Resources and Fisheries Supervision Station (PSDKP) Team.

Arriving in Medan, the two fishermen filled out a personal data form in the immigration department and were then escorted to the Medan Bus terminal to be sent back to North Aceh Regency.

Aliman said that the repatriation from Medan to Aceh was financed by the Aceh Government through the Social Service and would be received by the North Aceh government to be delivered directly to their respective families.
