Police Check Residents Who Threaten IKN Naratetama Airport Project Workers

The land for the development of Badara Naratetama, which is an infrastructure to support the transportation of the City of Nusantara, is located in the Lango Beach and Gersik Villages, Penajam/ANTARA District.

"The threat of workers for the Naratetama Airport construction project is being handled," said Head of Public Relations of the Regional Police, Kombes Artanto, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 26.

The first threatening incident occurred on Friday (23/2), a worker operator for heavy equipment for the construction of Naratetama Airport was visited by a group of residents while doing work.

The arrival of a group of residents to the project site, according to him, threatened and asked to stop the construction work of Naratetama Airport.

Then on Saturday (24/2) at around 08.20 WITA, a group of residents came back and threatened to stop the construction project for Naratetama Airport on the two-zone air side.

"Due to this threat, heavy equipment operators decided to stop their jobs," he said.

"A group of residents came to the project site with sharp weapons of the mandau type," he added.

The threat was reported to the Penajam Paser Utara Resort Police (Polres) by the supervision of the Naratetama Airport employment field.

Penajam Paser Utara Police Investigators examined the complainant and a number of witnesses, then identified a group of nine residents as suspects based on two pieces of evidence.

According to the Head of Public Relations, the North Penajam Paser Police asked the East Kalimantan Police to assist and successfully arrest the nine perpetrators of the threat, and now further investigation is being carried out at the East Kalimantan Police Headquarters.

"The suspects were charged with Article 335 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and or Article (2) paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951," said Artanto.

From the information obtained, the nine people are members of the Saloloang Farmers group, Lango Beach Village, Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency.

The construction of Naratetama Airport is a supporting infrastructure for Nusantara City transportation located in the Lango and Gersik Beach sub-districts, Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency.
