Bawaslu: In The Election Law There Is No Call For Cheating, There Are Administrative And Criminal Violations

Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja said that based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections, it was stated that no one was nomenclature of fraud.

"In Law Number 7 of 2017 there is no such thing as a nomenclature of fraud, there are violations. What violations have occurred? There are administrative violations, criminal violations have occurred," said Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

Bagja also explained that until now there have been no violations that can cancel the results of the 2024 General Election.

"However, can it then cancel the election results? Yes, at this point there are no findings of Bawaslu that states they can, then conclusions are drawn," he said.

However, Bagja said he was still waiting for the results of the supervision from the re-voting (PSU) and findings in other fields.

"However, at this point does it affect the results? There are such as violations of TSM administration (structured, systematic, and massive) in the General Elections Supervisory Agency. Well, there are several criteria that must be cumulatively met with prerequisites and one of them is to influence results, for example," he said.

Then, continued Bagja, evidence will be held and Bawaslu will also accept objections. He also said that his institution accepted a request for a complaint regarding this matter.

"We are in the law, in the laws and regulations, there are such doors," said Bagja.
