The head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra, Mukhsin Nasution said that some refugees suspected of being affected by gas poisoning in Puncak Sorik Marapi District had returned to their homes.
"Some residents who fled last night have returned to their homes. The children have entered school as usual," said Mukhsin as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.
Mukhsin explained that based on the data obtained, BPBD noted that as many as 300 families (KK) were displaced, allegedly affected by gas poisoning that had occurred since Thursday (22/2).
"Most of the refugees came from Sibanggor Julu Village and Sibanggor Tonga Village," said Mukhsin.
In the disaster, he said, the Mandailing Natal BPBD together with related policy makers coordinated to carry out handling.
"We are coordinating with the Government of Puncak District, Sorik Marapi, the community, and the Sibanggor Julu Village apparatus and Sibanggor Tonga Village to carry out the handling," said Mukhsin.
Meanwhile, the Mandailing Natal District Health Office established two health service posts for people suspected of being victims of gas poisoning in Puncak District, Sorik Marapi.
