Still Focusing On Voice Recapitulation, PPP Reviews Proposed Question Rights

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) has not taken a stand regarding the issuance of the right of inquiry to investigate the fraud of the 2024 General Election. The proposal is still being studied.

"Of course, if there is fraud, evidence, data, we will collect it. We are currently reviewing it," said PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi alias Awiek to reporters, Thursday, February 22.

Awiek agrees that the proposal does come from the presidential and vice presidential candidates who are supported by his party, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. However, this is not yet the main focus of PPP.

"They are currently focusing on overseeing the recapitulation of their own votes," said Awiek. Because, the party bearing the ka'bah symbol is very targeting to qualify again for parliament.

Moreover, the current parliament is still in recess. So we still haven't focused on it. Our focus is on overseeing the vote recapitulation, because we want to qualify for parliament," he said.

Even so, the Deputy Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR did not rule out the opportunity for his party factions to discuss and determine their position. However, the process is waiting after the trial period opens on March 4.

"Yes, we have to look at the data first, then our trial period will behave," said Awiek.

Previously reported, presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo told his two supporting parties in the current DPR, namely the PDI-P and the United Development Party (PPP).

The right of inquiry is the right to conduct an investigation into the implementation of a government law/policy related to important, strategic, and broad impact on social, national and state life allegedly contrary to laws and regulations.

"In this way, the DPR can ask the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to investigate allegations of fraud in the holding of this year's elections," said Ganjar. He also encouraged the presidential and vice presidential camps number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or AMIN to do the same.
