KY Extends Registration Period For Candidates For Supreme Court Justices And Ad Hoc HAM In The Supreme Court

The Judicial Commission (KY) has extended the registration period for candidates for Supreme Court justices and prospective judges of hoaxes (HAM) at the Supreme Court (MA) from the beginning until Thursday, February 22 to Tuesday, February 27.

The announcement of this extension was signed by the Chairman of KY Amzulian Rifai, to provide opportunities for candidates for Supreme Court justices and prospective judges at the Supreme Court who have not completed complete registration to immediately complete data filling and upload required documents.

"In order to provide wider opportunities for the best Indonesian citizens who meet the requirements to take part in the selection of candidates for Supreme Court justices and prospective judges at the Supreme Court in 2024, KY has extended the deadline for accepting proposals for Supreme Court justices and candidates for judges at the Supreme Court, which originally ended on February 22, 2024, to February 27, 2024," Amzulian said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 22.

As of this Thursday at 16.00 WIB, KY has received 120 confirmation registrants for candidates for Supreme Court justices, including 24 registrants for the Civil Chamber, 51 registrants for the Criminal Chamber, 24 registrants for the Religious Chamber of Religion, 9 registrants for the TUN Room, and 12 registrants for the Tax TUN. In addition, there are 15 confirmation registrants for prospective judges hoaxes at the Supreme Court.

It is known, KY opened registration for two Supreme Court justices of the Civil Chamber, three Supreme Court justices of the Criminal Chamber, one Supreme Court judge of the Chamber of Religion, one Supreme Court justice of the TUN (State Business Link), three special tax attorneys of the TUN Chamber, and three hoctare judges in the Supreme Court.

The requirements and procedures for proposing have been regulated in the Announcement Number: 1/PENG/PIM/RH.01.02/01/2024 concerning Acceptance of Proposed Candidates for Supreme Court Justices of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024 and Number: 2/PENG/PIM/RH.04.02/01/2024 concerning Acceptance of Proposed Candidates for Judges ad hoc HAM in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024.

"Complete information and requirements can be seen at www.recruitment.commissionyuditial.go.id," added Amzulian.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Commission, Siti Nurdjanah, said that the need for a hocting judge in the Supreme Court was very urgent. This is because the legal process for the case of Serious Human Rights violations of Paniai at the cassation level has stalled due to the absence of a judge on trial.

"In the Supreme Court there is no hoax judge, even though in the law it is regulated that human rights cases must be handled by a panel of judges consisting of career judges and H&D judges," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/2).

Registration for the selection of candidates for Supreme Court justices and prospective judges for hoaxes since January 30, 2024. On Friday (16/2), KY has also reminded the applicants for the selection of candidates for Supreme Court justices and prospective judges at the Supreme Court to immediately complete the files through the official website of KY recruitment before the deadline for the registration period.
