BKSDA Asked To Immediately Evacuate Tigers Resahing Residents Of West Lampung

LAMPUNG BARAT - Acting (Pj) West Lampung Regent Nukman asked the Bengkulu-Lampung Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) to immediately evacuate the Sumatran Tigers that were troubling the residents.

"So that the king of the Sumatran Tiger forest, which has disturbed the people of Suoh and Bandar Negeri Suoh (BNS) sub-districts, is immediately arrested for minimal quarantine, so that similar incidents do not happen again," said Nukman when contacted, Thursday, February 22, was confiscated by Antara.

He also reminded the public to remain alert to the presence of tigers that can attack residents, especially when in gardens.

"For the community, I ask you to remain vigilant. If you go to the garden to pick coffee, durian, don't be alone, try to invite friends to help each other," he said.

Nukman also reminded residents not to take their own action to catch wild animals roaming these months, fearing there will be more victims.

Previously, the BKSDA Bengkulu-Lampung area set cage traps and camera traps to follow up on reports of two residents who were killed by tigers in West Lampung.

"To anticipate no similar cases and reduce public unrest, the Bengkulu-Lampung BKSDA installed trap cages and camera traps at the scene where the victim was found," said Head of the Lampung Regional Conservation Section (SKW) III, Joko Susilo.

His party has deployed a team to evacuate and search for the Sumatran Tigers that are troubling local residents.

"Sudah menurunkan Tim Wildlife Rescue Unit (WRU) SKW III Lampung untuk melakukan evakuasi satwa liar, jenis Harimau Sumatra," katanya.

For information, previously Sahri bin Saprak (28), a resident of Pekon Bumi Hantati, Bandar Negeri Suoh District, was found dead on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at around 02.00 WIB in the morning.

Sahri was found by residents in a fairly pathetic condition in his garden in Talang Peninjauan and allegedly due to a tiger attack.

Previously, Gunarso, a resident of Pemangku Sunber Agung II, Pekon Simber Agung, Suoh District, Thursday, February 8, was found dead with a pathetic condition on a plantation area. Seeing the condition of Gunarso's injuries, residents suspect that they were attacked by tigers.
