Discourse On Election Letter Rights, AHY: Democrats Don't Want To Be Trapped

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Democratic Party as well as the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that he did not want to be trapped in the discourse on election rights.AHY said, the right of inquiry is a mechanism that can be done if political parties are dissatisfied with election results. "If anyone is dissatisfied, there is a mechanism, please, it is the right of citizens, political parties but I don't want to be trapped, we are too chaotic in such issues because there are still many homework that we have to finish," said AHY at the Jakarta State Palace, Wednesday, February 21. AHY emphasized that there should not be any prejudice against election fraud, even though the right of inquiry is indeed part of the expression of various groups. "What is clear is that we don't have to predict about fraud and so on. I know this is part of the expression of various post-noise counting groups. That's natural. Every year the election in any country there are always such issues," explained AHY. "I have confidence, although it is still a temporary calculation, but what is clear is that we can already read who is the winner of the election. Even though we respect formally until it is complete, but what is clear we actually have to move on," he said. "5 years, 10 years in the future, there are many challenges and complications. Therefore, it is time for us to rebuild the reconciliation of the nation and we give a democratic space," continued AHY. Previously, the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo launched a discourse so that political parties in the DPR apply the right of inquiry to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 presidential election.

The right of inquiry is the right of the DPR to investigate the implementation of laws or government policies related to important matters and has a broad impact on society, nation and state. Thus, the right of inquiry can be used to investigate the possibility of fraud in the 2024 General Election, including to hold the General Election Commission (KPU) and Bawaslu accountable for the holding of elections.
