BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government (Pemkab), West Java has prioritized handling of the Cipamingkis Bridge landslide on Jalan Cibarusah-Loji, Cibarusah District, through the improvement stages since the initial stages of absorption of this year's regional budget.

The bridge repair process, which is the main access for residents of a number of villages in Cibarusah District, as well as an alternative route to Bogor and Karawang Regencies, has now entered the open auction stage after completing the consultant stage.

"The stages continue to process and hopefully the contract process will run quickly, so that it can be done immediately," said Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

He said the repair of the Cipamingkis Bridge was one of the major physical works in the first quarter of this year, in addition to the Bakti Beach Bridge in Muaragembong District.

"The number of work in the first quarter is almost 400 activities. The big one is two, repair the bridge. Hopefully in the next one or two weeks there will be a contract," he said again.

Head of the Water Resources, Highways, and Construction Development Office of Bekasi Regency Henri Lincoln stated that the repair of landslides in the Cipamingkis Bridge area was a priority-scale program, considering that road conditions were increasingly concerning and could only be traversed by one route.

"It has been allocated from provincial assistance, while reviewing the HPS (temporary estimate price). Around Rp. 30 billion with a target work in the first quarter," he also said.

He explained that based on the results of the field inspection, the handling would be carried out on the collapsed roads, namely the east side of the bridge, while the bridge construction was still functioning properly.

"There are no obstacles on the bridge but only the road is a landslide. So we will have construction engineering, we will build a pipe sleeves by carabore pile until we meet hard soil and then we build blocks and concrete plates on top," he said.

His party also continues to coordinate intensively with the Citarum River Basin Center (BBWS) to minimize damage to embankments due to eroded along the Cipamingkis River.

"The solution must be made by a dam to control the water discharge upstream. If conditions are still like this, it will be difficult and this is what we report every year to BBWS Citarum. Not only destroying bridges, but also eroded lands, including residents' houses, can also be affected," he said.
