AHY: Even Though It's Still A Temporary Calculation, It's Clear Who Will Win The Election, No Need To Suspect Cheating

Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono believes that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs who won the election even though the vote count from the KPU is still ongoing or is still temporary.

"I have confidence, although it is still a temporary calculation, but what is clear is that it can be seen who won the election," said Agus Harimurti or familiarly called AHY when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

AHY requested that all parties respect the stages of the General Election to completion and can immediately "move on" because the challenges of the government for the next five to ten years will be more complex.

AHY, who has just been inaugurated as Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, also asked the public not to be prejudiced (prejudices) regarding allegations of election fraud.

"What is clear is that we don't have to 'prejudice' about fraud and so on. I know this is part of the expression from various circles after the vote count. That's natural," said AHY.

Therefore, he invites national reconciliation and provides space for democracy.

He also considered that the mechanism for using the right of inquiry by the DPR in investigating allegations of election fraud was the right of political parties and the rights of citizens.

"But I don't want us to get caught up too much in those kinds of issues because we still have a lot of homework to do," said AHY.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) real count data recorded that the 2024 presidential election ballot progress had reached 608,220 polling stations (TPS) or 73.88 percent of the total 823,236 polling stations.

According to this data, the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka won 60,323,961 votes or 58.76 percent of the total votes.

Followed by the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 01 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar who received 24.22 percent of the votes and pair number 03 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md won 17.02 percent of the votes.
