Central Jakarta Police Propam Examines 10 Members Of The Tanah Abang Polsektro Piket Regarding 16 Prisoners Running Away

After the celebration of 16 detainees, the Central Jakarta Metro Police conducted an examination of a number of members of the Tanah Abang Police who were on duty at night. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said his party conducted an examination of members who were picket on the day of the incident.

"We have examined 10 picket members. They are members of the picket," said Kombes Susatyo to VOI, Tuesday, February 20.

The examination was carried out by Sie Propam of the Central Jakarta Metro Police. However, Kombes Susatyo did not explain in detail what inspection processes were carried out by the Central Jakarta Police Propam.

In addition, when asked about the escape of 16 detainees by sawing the iron tellis, Kombes Susatyo also confirmed the aid used by the perpetrators to escape.

"Yes (use a hacksaw to cut the iron tellis)," he said.

A number of investigative teams from Sie Propam, Criminal Investigation Unit, Drug Unit and Identification Unit were deployed to conduct TKP checks. The joint team is also still pursuing all escaped prisoners.

Kombes Susatyo appealed to anyone who knew their whereabouts to be able to report it.

"Immediately report to us the Central Jakarta Police," he said.

The incident of the escape of 16 prisoners began on Monday, February 19, 2024, at around 02.40 WIB.

The Tanah Abang Metro Police received a report from the residents behind that there was a group of unknown people running.

After receiving the report, the Tanah Abang Metro Police immediately checked the detention room and found an open ventilation cell.

Then the members of the prison guard checked the back of the cell and found the bonding of the prayer mat to the bottom of the iron candidate that was cut off. Currently, the police are still pursuing 14 prisoners who are still at large. 2 other prisoners who escaped were arrested.
