Jarnas 98 Claims There Are Political Parties Who Are Trying To Sigitimize Election Results

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the National Activists Network (Jarnas) 98, Sangap Surbakti invites all members of Jarnas 98 to intensively supervise the vote count process by the General Election Commission (KPU) from the lowest to the top level.

This invitation, said Sangap, was called upon to ensure that election organizers work professionally and transparently without any pressure from any party.

"There are indications that certain political parties are structured and massive to delegitize the election results because they do not comply with their wishes. This step is ridiculous. We must support the work of the organizers," Sangap said at the Secretariat of Jarnas 98, Monday 19 February.

Furthermore, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, UKI, said that the political party which is currently delegitizing the election results is not a new party. He has existed for a long time. They first tried to legitimize the election results when Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) came out as the winner of the 2004 presidential election.

"Until the SBY government runs, they continue to work to legitimize the results of the Presidential Election by voicing, SBY neolib. But when they are in power, they actually support a figure whose thoughts are clearly Neolib. Things like this are not good for the path of democracy," he said.
