The 'Detention Room Is Old, Easy To Break' IPW Said Responding To The News That 16 Prisoners Escaped From The Police Cell

Responding to the escape of 16 prisoners from the Tanah Abang Metro Police, the Chairman of the Indonesia Police Watch (IPW), Sugeng Teguh Santoso, actually criticized the conditions of the facilities and infrastructure at the Tanah Abang Metro Police.

According to Sugeng, the process of the escape of 16 detainees at the Tanah Abang Metro Police must be investigated first.

"Is the escape of this detainee because the infrastructure (Sarpras) of the detention house is old so it is easy to break into, this is related to infrastructure rather than the detention room," said Sugeng Teguh Santoso when confirmed by VOI, Monday, February 19.

IPW said, of course, Propam from the Central Jakarta Metro Police would conduct an examination first.

"Everything will be checked, the prison officers, the condition of the detention room, then what is the reason they were able to escape," he said.
