Toyota Fortuner Driver Hits Teenager To Death At JLNT Casablanca Arrested

JAKARTA - The Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya managed to catch a black Toyota Fortuner driver who hit a 17-year-old Honda Vario motorcycle rider with number B 4576 TTS with the initials MAI on Jalan Layang Non Tol (JLNT) Casablanca, Setiabudi District, South Jakarta.

"Currently, vehicles and drivers have been secured (at the Laka Unit of the Gakkum Sub-Directorate of the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya)," said Head of Laka Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Diella when confirmed, Sunday, February 18.

The arrest of the Toyota Fortuner driver was carried out after evidence of instructions after the accident that occurred on the Casablanca Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT), Setiabudi District, South Jakarta.

Petugas Ditlantas Polda kemudian melakukan pencarian terhadap pelaku pada Minggu dini hari.

"According to witnesses at the crime scene, the motorcyclist went against the direction and was then hit by Fortuner. Then shortly after, the car left the scene," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a teenager who was an automatic motorcycle rider with number B 4576 TTS named Muhamad Arifin Ilham (17) became a victim of a hit-and-run by a black Fortuner car while crossing the Casablanca Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT), Setiabudi District, South Jakarta, Sunday morning, February 18.

The incident occurred at around 02.00 WIB. The victim was hit by a black Fortuner driver who was suspected of being drunk while driving.

The reason is, according to eyewitnesses of the incident, before the accident occurred, the car seemed to be walking zig zage or swerved to the left and right until it finally hit the motorbike the victim was driving.

"I've seen the car from there, the road is right and left but it took him a long time to go left. He (the driver of the car) looks like he's drunk," said Firmansyah, one of the eyewitnesses to the incident who is also the victim's uncle, Sunday, February 18.
