JAKARTA Data issued by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) states that the number of 2024 Election officers who died on February 17 was 57 people. They consist of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS), community protection, and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

If detailed, the number consists of 29 members of the KPPS, 10 members of the Community Protection (Linmas), nine witnesses, six officers, two voting committees, and one member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

Based on age, four officers aged 17-20 years, seven officers aged 21-30 years, eight officers aged 31-40 years, 18 officers aged 41-50 years, 15 officers aged 51-60 years, and five officers over 60.

The highest cause of death for officers was heart disease (13 incidents), then accidents (8 events), acute respiratory problems (ARDS) and hypertension of five each.

In addition, there were four serebrovascular diseases, four multiorgan failures and two septic shocks each, as well as one incident of shortness of breath, asthma, and diabetes mellitus each.

The cause of death of 15 more people is still being confirmed.

The highest death rate was found in West Java (13), East Java (12), Central Java (11), and DKI Jakarta (6).

As for North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, two officers each died. Meanwhile, in Riau, West Sumatra, DI Yogyakarta, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, each officer died.

Meanwhile, as many as 8,381 election officers were treated with the most patients, namely members of the KPPS (4,281 people), then the Voting Committee (PPS) as many as 1,040 people, and 1,034 officers. Then there were 707 witnesses, 694 Linmas members, 381 Bawaslu members, and 244 District Election Committees.

According to the age range, 531 patients aged 17-20 years, 21-30 years as many as 2,424, 31-40 years as many as 1,967 people, 41-50 years 2,049 people, 51-60 years as many as 1,161 people, and 60 years and over as many as 249 people.

The patients were treated for various diseases, including concavity, stomach and intestines 12 fingers, hypertension, acute upper respiratory tract infections, soft tissue disorders, pneumonia, intestinal infection, and internal ear disease.

Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that on Thursday (15/2) about 15 percent of KPPS (Prone Organizing Group) officers were over 55 years old.

"There are still around 15 percent of officers over the age of 55 because there are indeed limited officers who wish to become officers. In addition, there are still those who have comorbid diseases, but they are not controlled," said Nadia.
