The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Jakarta has postponed the implementation of the follow-up elections from Sunday, February 18 to Sunday, February 24.

The KPU said the decision to postpone this was due to the lack of logistics for the democratic party.

"Yes, it is true that the delay was carried out," said Acting Chairman of the North Jakarta KPU, Abie Maharullah Madusiri in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 17.

He said this delay was related to the availability of election logistics for 17 polling stations (TPS) that failed to vote on February 14, 2024 due to damage due to flooding.

According to him, a total of 4,651 permanent voters (DPT) were spread across 17 polling stations in two urban villages, namely Pegangsaan Dua Village, Kelapa Gading District and Sunter Jaya Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta City.

"We are coordinating with the leadership of the DKI KPU regarding the availability of logistics and the implementation of this continued election," he said.

Meanwhile, for the recommendation of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu which proposes the addition of one TPS to hold a follow-up election, namely the West Pademangan 27 TPS, the KPU is still conducting a search.

"We are still investigating this, just wait for the official data," he said.

Previously, Bawaslu recommended 18 polling stations to hold follow-up elections because they failed to be held on Wednesday (14/2).

"There is one TPS that is the finding of Bawaslu, a follow-up election must be carried out, namely TPS 27 in West Pademangan," said a member of North Jakarta Bawaslu, Muhammad Shobirin.

He said this finding added to the data held by the KPU which released 17 polling stations that carried out follow-up elections because logistics were damaged by floods on Wednesday (14/2).

Meanwhile, for the findings at TPS 27, West Pademangan, there was a shortage of 137 ballots for the DPR RI so that voters could not exercise their voting rights.

"So, a total of 18 polling stations will carry out follow-up elections," he said.
