Malang Police conducted an investigation regarding the alleged bullying case experienced by students at one of the Islamic boarding schools in the Lawang District, Malang Regency, North Java with the initials ST (15). The Head of Public Relations of the Malang Police, Ipda Dicka Ermantara, said that reports related to the bullying incident carried out using the hot iron had been received and handled by investigators from the Malang Police Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA). "Yes, it is true that the report has been received, currently it is still in the process of being investigated," said Dicka in Kepanjen, Antara, Thursday, February 14. Dicka explained that the alleged bullying report was made by Yoga Amara (42) as the biological father of ST, in December 2023. At that time he gave initial information regarding the alleged bullying experienced by his son to investigators. According to him, the police have examined witnesses who knew about the incident. At least six witnesses have been questioned, including providing assistance at the time of the post-mortem request at the hospital. "The report is being investigated by the PPA Unit of the Malang Police Satreskrim, then an investigation and investigation will be carried out," he said. The alleged bullying that occurred in one of the Islamic boarding schools located in Lawang District, caused victims of violence to suffer injuries to the chest. Based on witness testimony, the bullying was allegedly carried out by one of its seniors who is also a student at the Islamic boarding school. The action carried out in the pesantren environment took place on December 4, 2023. At that time, he continued, the victim was about to take clothes from her inside the boarding school environment. The victim then asked his senior who was on duty at that time whether the clothes that had been washed had been completely ironed. However, the perpetrator was offended by the victim's question and then angry and smothered the victim. The reported person who was already emotional then took a vapor rod and was immediately directed to the victim's chest. "As a result of the incident, ST suffered pain and injuries to the chest. In addition, the victim was also traumatized and did not dare to tell anyone about the incident," he explained.

Malang Police made efforts according to applicable procedures to investigate the incident. In addition, the police also continue to provide assistance to victims who are minors. "The process is still ongoing, we will continue to monitor it, including assistance to victims who are still underage," he said.
