Army Chief Of Staff: TNI Netrality Remains Guarded In The 2024 Election

MEDAN - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak stated that the TNI's neutrality will be maintained in the 2024 election.

"Everything has been checked, the neutrality of the TNI is going well and well maintained," said TNI General Maruli Simanjuntak in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.

He said that if there were members of the TNI who did not maintain neutrality in the 2024 election, strict action would be taken and punished.

"We are the most assertive, for example, actually the rules use authority, the facilities are clear," he said.

According to him, those who can use authority and facilities are usually personnel in terms of good positions or positions.

"There is a legal process, but we will first release his position," said Kasad.

Previously, the Army Chief of Staff stated that the conditions and situations leading up to the election voting, February 14, 2024 in North Sumatra, were running safely.

"I received a report from the Pangdam, it is safe because so far it has been safe," said Maruli.

His party continues to fully assist in logistics distribution, both from the Army (AD), Police, Air Force (AU) to prepare aircraft if needed.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Meutya Hafid, said that the meeting with Kasad and his staff was to emphasize the importance of TNI neutrality.

"So far, the TNI that we have seen is neutral, hopefully we will see tomorrow and in the future, I believe the TNI is neutral," he said.

Meutya said that if there were findings of non-neutral members, they could be reported immediately to the TNI or Commission I of the DPR.

"We can also call our TNI partners if there are certain findings," he said.
