Flood-affected Residents In Bima City Evacuated

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has evacuated flood-affected residents in a number of areas in the local city since Friday (9/2) until today.

"The need for ready-to-eat rice packs for affected residents, refugees and field personnel," said Head of BPBD Kota Bima, Gufran, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 10.

According to him, the flood was caused by the intensity of heavy rain in the upstream area of Bima City from 15.19 WITA to 18.00 WITA.

He mentioned a number of areas affected by the flood, including Dodu Village, East Rasanae District. In this place inundated rice fields and residential areas.

In addition, in Nungga Village, East Rasanae District, floods also inundated rice fields. Floods in Oimbo Village, East Rasanae District also inundated rice fields and residential areas.

Furthermore, in Kumbe Village, East Rasanae District inundated residential areas. Ntobo Village, Raba District inundated the rice fields and Mande Village, Mpunda District, inundated residential areas.

"For information on infrastructure damage and victims, data collection is still being collected," he said.

Currently, he continued, the rainy conditions have completely stopped in all areas of Bima City, but the water level of the river in the downstream area continues to increase and it is very likely that in some areas downstream there will be overflows such as Penagara, Penatoi, Lewirato, Mande, Sadia, Manggemaci, Pane and Paruga sub-districts.

"For urgent needs, we are evacuating residents and evacuation equipment. The need for ready-to-eat rice packs for affected residents, refugees and field personnel," he said.
