JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo, highlighted the ethical violations that occurred at the Constitutional Court (MK) and the General Election Commission (KPU) in the 2024 presidential election. He said this made him nervous because democracy in Indonesia meant that it did not match the values and rules.

"If the Constitutional Court gets into ethical problems, the KPU gets into problems, what ethics to talk about in our democracy, as a large enough democratic country," said Ganjar when speaking on the podcast 'Speak Up' with former KPK Chairman Abraham Samad, quoted Friday, February 9.

Ganjar said that this condition actually makes people nervous, such as civil society groups, academics, and religious leaders. However, their insistence that the election run honestly and fairly so that the issue of neutrality does not seem to be heard.

"So this is actually a symptom that appears that democracy is not okay," continued Ganjar.

Ganjar assessed that the voice was not a covert movement. This pressure for better democracy is indeed voiced by those who feel that democratic conditions in the country are not doing well.
