Putri Cak Imin Invites The Young Generation To Be More Literate In Politics

JAKARTA - Indonesian youth are invited to be more literate with politics, especially ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

This was stated by the daughter of the Candidate for Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), Rahma Arifa Muhaimin.

According to Rara, actually many young people in the country are interested in politics and strategic issues. However, they are still confused about expressing their concern.

"This is a positive thing that we are grateful for. Nevertheless, we still invite more young people to be political literate," said the woman who is familiarly called Rara quoting Antara.

In the campaign of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) pair, various names from young people for AMIN couples such as "Abah Anies" and "Papi Imin" were spread. With these calls, young people feel closer to the AMIN couple.

Rara admitted that this designation emerged naturally and became an interest and entry route for young people to be more concerned with politics, including the youth community of AMIN pair volunteers, namely Change Together.

Young people Change Together who initiated several AMIN pair programs, including Anies, Slepet Imin, and the National Team Locker Room.

Together with the Change Community, Rara said that he had organized an Expeditionary Change agenda in several cities in Indonesia to invite young people to be more politically literate. In this agenda, a discussion was held with volunteers to Change Together throughout Indonesia and all other young people.

He revealed that the Expedition Change discussion resulted in a lot of input, one of which was regarding education, employment, and freedom of expression as the main focus.

"These various inputs were brought to Jakarta to become ideas for AMIN," he said.

So far, according to Rara, all AMIN campaign activities through young volunteers have gone well. Despite the many challenges experienced, volunteers continue to advance undauntedly.

Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia had determined the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres) participants, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, a period of calm on February 11-13, and the D-Day of the vote on February 14, 2024.
