Students Disband At Harmoni Intersection, Police Open Road Blocks

JAKARTA - A joint student demonstration from the Indonesian Student Legislative Institute Forum (FL2MI), the State Religious College Student Senate (SEMA PTKIN), and the All-Indonesian Association of Constitutional Law Students (AM HTN-SI) disbanded on Wednesday, February 7, evening, at around 19.45 WIB.

From VOI's monitoring, it can be seen that PPSU officers from Gambir District and cleaning staff from the Environmental Sub-Department have started cleaning up trash from the Harmoni intersection road which is used as a place for demonstrations.

"The garbage that was cleaned was the rest of the mineral water bottles and banners that were used," said one of the PPSU officers who was sweeping the road at the demonstration site.

Meanwhile, the police also began to pull and tidy up the barbed wire fence. Police officers also brought order to the concrete fence of the MCB barrier access to the Presidential Palace.

Until 19.45 WIB, officers were still carrying out the road clearing process so that vehicles could be passed again from Monas to the Harmoni intersection.

Hundreds of students held a follow-up demonstration at the Harmoni intersection, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, February 7, afternoon. They carried flags and a command car and held an action behind the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia at 17.54 WIB.

The Coordinator of the PTKIN SEMA Center, Mustofa, said that the mass of the joint student action took to the streets from the Indonesian Student Legislative Institute Forum (FL2MI) of the State Religious Universities Student Senate (SEMA PTKIN), and the All-Indonesian Association of Constitutional Law Students (AM HTN-SI).

"We have conferred President Jokowi as the Father of Dynasty Political Development because he has succeeded in building political practices of nepotism by utilizing existing state structures and devices," Mustofa said in a statement received by VOI, Wednesday, February 7, afternoon.
