President Jokowi: IDR 244 Trillion Of Mekaar PNM Funds Distributed To 15 Million Customers

JAKARTA - The government has disbursed capital loan funds worth IDR 244 trillion through the National Capital of Madani Fostering a Prosperous Family Economy (PNM Mekaar) which is intended for pre-sesejahter women who are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This figure was conveyed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a meeting with Mekaar Program participants at Field Fifty, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, (North Sumatra), Wednesday, February 7. "Now it is Rp244 trillion that has been distributed and circulated among all women," said President Jokowi through the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, quoted from Antara. According to President Jokowi, the nominal has been distributed through PNM Mekaar since 2015 until now to a total of 15.2 million customers throughout Indonesia. On that occasion, the President said that the interest of PNM Mekaar participants had jumped compared to the beginning of the program in 2015. "I remember in 2015 when this PNM was founded, there were only 400,000 customers throughout Indonesia. Now to this day PNM Mekaar customers have 15.2 million customers," he said. "This situation indicates that the Mekaar PNM program is very much needed by the community in order to improve the family economy, improve family welfare, and shape a good character," said President Jokowi. "So from 400 thousand customers, it jumped to 15.2 million customers and from the beginning of 2015-2016 what was given was only Rp800 billion," he said. Of the total distribution of loan funds currently worth IDR 244 trillion, IDR 17.7 trillion of which is distributed to 1.1 million customers in North Sumatra Province. The President also reminded customers to take advantage of the loan funds for business capital needs.

"If we borrow Rp. 6 million, we can get Rp. 6 million, when we bring home happy, right? I only leave Rp. 6 million, use everything for business capital to agree? Rp. 6 million, use everything for working capital, we agree?," he said to the applause of customers.
