JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) supports anti-corruption education which is realized by forming the DKI Jakarta Anti-Corruption Regional Advocacy Committee.

"We and the KPK have agreed to implement anti-corruption education in DKI Jakarta," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 6.

This was conveyed by Heru when attending the national coordination meeting on the implementation of anti-corruption education within the local government organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The anti-corruption education program is not only implemented by establishing the Anti-Corruption Regional Advocacy Committee, but also through the inauguration and embedding of family ambassadors with integrity and anti-corruption counselors, the formation and launch of anti-corruption road showsbuses to various schools.

Heru considered this very important to provide an anti-corruption spirit to all levels of society, especially in the educational environment.

According to Heru in welcoming Indonesia Gold 2045, the world of education plays an important and strategic role in creating superior, character, and integrity individuals. Thus, an anti-corruption culture is very important to instill from an early age in order to prepare future generations to develop Indonesia.

Based on DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 132 of 2019, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to implementing the implementation of anti-corruption education in educational units, State Civil Apparatus (ASN), Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and grant recipients or assistance from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Anti-corruption education in education units is carried out through activities of strengthening, delivering materials in subject matter, and providing exemplary examples in the school environment.

On this occasion, Heru and Acting Governor of Banten symbolically also received the national strategy document for anti-corruption education, the guidebook for implementing basic and medium-sized anti-corruption education, and the anti-corruption education learning module to all regional heads.

The document will be used as a guideline in anti-corruption education for students, students, teachers, and educators, including parents and school committees, and will be applied to ASN, BUMD employees, and various other elements of society.

Heru also appreciated the Ministry of Home Affairs and the KPK for continuing to oversee efforts to prevent and eradicate corruption throughout Indonesia.

Heru hopes that this step becomes anti-corruption values that can be cultivated in people's lives.

Meanwhile, KPK Chairman Nawawi Pomolango explained that the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Education (PAK) program in all educational networks continues to be intensified. In November 2023, the KPK held a national coordination meeting of PAK in Jakarta which was attended by strategic partners, including the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"This is an important part of the national education program, especially in formal education at the early, basic and medium levels which are the domains of local governments," said Nawawi.
