As Host For Online Gambling, Mothers In Sukabumi Arrested By Police

SUKABUMI - Satreskrim Polres Sukabumi, West Java, secured three content creators who promote online gambling sites live streaming on social media. Of the three perpetrators, one of them is a housewife (IRT) who engineered her face using an artificial intelligence (AI) application filter.

The action of promoting online gambling sites live streaming on social media by the three perpetrators, each with the initials TM (31) DM (23) and AM (24), has been going on for almost a year.

Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Tony Prasetyo said that in carrying out his actions, AM, who is an IRT, played a role in inviting people to join online gambling sites.

Meanwhile, to hide the real face so that it is not easily recognized, the perpetrator uses the AI application until his face turns into a cartoon character. Meanwhile, the other two actors AM and DM act as operators.

"During live streaming, his face used an artificial intelligence (AI) filter, a cartoon that was seen on the screen, he was the host on the Facebook social media platform," Tony said Tuesday, February 6.

The three were secured by the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim at three different points. The perpetrators make a profit of Rp. 15 million each month by working for two hours a day to promote online gambling of types of slots on Sobat88 and Janger55 sites by live streaming.

As a result of their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 45 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph 2 of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning electronic information and transactions and the second suspected article, namely Article 303 paragraph 1 letter E E of the Criminal Code concerning gambling. The threats of each are 10 years in prison.
