Bahlil Accuses There Is A Scenario Behind The Many Criticisms Of Academic Civity

JAKARTA - The head of the Strategic Working Team (TKS) for presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Bahlil Lahadalia, assessed that there was a scenario behind criticism of a number of academic community.

"This scenario, we already understand as a former activist. This is my 'kiss' as the former Chair of BEM understands this item. Unless we (me) used to be bookworms, we (we) grew up on the road," said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, after meeting the President in his capacity as Minister of Investment, reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

Bahlil's statement was in response to journalists' questions about the rise of petitions from a number of academic community who criticized President Joko Widodo's government.

Bahlil did not explain the scenario in question. However, he emphasized that every perception or comment must be in accordance with facts and evidence, and have a legal basis.

The government, he said, respects everyone's opinion, including the academic community.

"But I also want to convey that the campus must maintain its dignity. Take a look at some photos, he said, how come someone raises the finger of a certain number. How come there is a party leader there, which is true," he said.

According to Bahlil, President Joko Widodo remains relaxed in responding to criticism and petitions of a number of campus civities.

"I am a former 98 activist, the one who went to the demonstration, we (my friends) and I), this movement (academica community) I think that's the movement, what is it like. We have to say people and students are not regulatory parties," he said.
