Kaesang's Response To Gibran's Vice Presidential Candidate Registration Made The Chairman Of The KPU Sentenced To DKPP Violate The Code Of Ethics

DENPASAR - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep, responded to the decision of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) to give a strong warning sanction to the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari for violating the code of ethics for the registration of vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Kaesang admitted that he did not know the DKPP decision against the chairman of the KPU.

"I don't know that one yet. I've just landed, I'll study it first," said Kaesang after participating in PSI's grand campaign at the Ngurah Rai Basketball Gymnasium, Denpasar City, Monday, February 5.

The PSI Party Secretary General, Raja Juli Antoni, also made the same statement.

"We haven't learned anything, we just landed from Jakarta. We will give an official response after we study it," he said.

Previously, the vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar responded to the decision of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) regarding the registration of Gibran Rakabuming as vice presidential candidate. KPU chairman Hasim Asy'ari was decided to violate the code of ethics related to this matter.

"The violation of the code of ethics decided by the DKPP has become a black record for our national political process," said Muhaimin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

The General Chairperson of the PKB stated that currently there are two black records in national politics. First, the decision of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) and second, the decision of the DKPP.

"This is a black record, which I think is a national concern. Hopefully there are steps that make us a nation, confident and proud, that this nation puts ethics first," he explained.

According to Cak Imin, although the DKPP decision did not affect Gibran's candidacy, the most important thing was ethical issues.

"For me, ethics is important, it must continue to be upheld. Not only politics, the environment, development procedures, the principles of national development, the foundation of ethics," he asserted.
