WONDANA - A total of seven soldiers from Kodim 1811 / Teluk Wondama had to walk for three days to escort logistics to Oya Village, Naikere District, Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua.

Dandim 1811/Eluk Wondama Lt. Col. Inf. Budi Setiadi said logistics were confirmed to have arrived in Oya Village on Sunday, November 24 afternoon after previously departing on Thursday, November 21.

"The team carrying logistics to Kampung Oya consists of 26 people consisting of seven soldiers from Kodim 1811/TW led by Serda Fredy, two personnel from Teluk Wondama Police, three Panwas, one PPD officer, four PPS members and nine members of KPPS," he said in Wasior, Antara, Tuesday, November 26.

To bring logistics to Kampung Oya, officers can only carry logistics until the deadline for land roads near Undurara Village. After leaving Undurara Village, officers had to carry logistics on foot to Kampung Oya.

Although the nearby village is about 12 kilometers away, the terrain in the area is quite heavy because it is in the form of hills with steep valleys which are also filled with swamps and many large rivers.

"After arriving at Kampung Oya, all regional election logistics were immediately stored at the PPS Secretariat, Kampung Oya," he said.

He guarantees that the security of the logistics for the 2024 Pilkada in the Wondama Bay area is carried out well.

In addition to logistical security, Kodim 1811 is also ready to assist the Wondama Bay Police in maintaining security and public order conditions (Kamtibmas) in Wobdama Bay during the Pilkada stage.

"In accordance with the directives from the top command, the TNI together with the Police also ensure security during the Pilkada, either through patrols, logistics and security escorts after the voting and vote count," he said.

Chairman of Teluk Wondama KPU Yustinus Rumabur said the difficulty of the terrain to Kampung Oya made his party have to carry out logistics distribution since Thursday (21/11) preceding the distribution of 74 other villages in Wondama Bay.

Kampung Oya was preceded because it was the furthest area with quite high geographical difficulties.

Until now, the isolated village on the border of Wondama Bay and Kaimana Regency has not been reached by land vehicle. Access to Kampung Oya can only be on foot or by helicopter.
