Prabowo Apologizes At The Closing Of The Fifth Debate, Anies: There Is Nothing Wrong To Forgive

KOTAMOBAGU - presidential candidate (candidate) number 1, Anies Baswedan responded to an apology from presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto addressed to his competing presidential and vice presidential candidates in the closing session of the fifth debate for the 2024 presidential election. According to Anies, there is nothing to forgive from Prabowo. There were also no mistakes over Prabowo's statements or actions while competing to win votes in the 2024 election for him. "There's nothing wrong with it, there's nothing wrong that needs to be forgiven. But as an apology, it's okay. But, I don't feel there is any mistake that needs to be forgiven. He's fine," said Anies at the Molinaw Square, Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi, Monday, February 5. Anies also responded to Prabowo's attitude, who often agreed to his arguments during the debate. In yesterday's debate, Prabowo admitted that he agreed with Anies' statement regarding the need for attention to teacher welfare, to open wider space for expressing cultural observers, to bring in professors to teach domestically. According to Anies, Prabowo's approval is a sign that the idea of change he echoed with the vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar was accepted by his competing presidential and vice presidential candidates. "I am grateful that Pak Prabowo agreed with much what we have said, repeatedly expressed agreement. It illustrates that in fact the ideas and changes are increasingly accepted, including by other candidates," explained Anies. Previously, Prabowo Subianto, apologized to his two rivals, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD when delivering their closing statement at the end of the fifth debate of the 2024 presidential election at JCC, Jakarta, Sunday. Prabowo admitted that he had often given strong statements to his two competitors. However, Prabowo megklaim his actions during the 2024 presidential election only wanted to do what was best for the Indonesian nation. "We have only been carrying out a campaign that has been full of enthusiasm, full of contestation, sometimes full of harsh words, but in good faith, I think three pairs of candidates want the best for the Indonesian people," Prabowo explained. "On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran, on behalf of the Forward Indonesia Coalition, I apologize to candidate pair number 1, Mr. Anies, Mr. Muhaimin, and candidate pair number 3 Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahfud if in this campaign there are our words or actions that are not pleasing, we apologize profusely," continued Prabowo. On the same occasion, Prabowo also apologized to the KPU if his actions and Gibran were not right.

"We also apologize to the KPU if we also act inappropriately, our desire to do our best. We always fight for the best. Ladies and gentlemen, the important thing is that we must uphold harmony, unity, kinship among all elements and the Indonesian nation, especially harmony among Indonesian leaders," he explained.
